SLIP AND FALL
We have all seen a spill on the grocery store floor
and have walked by it, without even thinking twice
about it. That same spill might seem more important
however, if a shoppers was looking at the products
on the shelves, did not see the spill, slipped on
it and suffered a broken ankle.
Slip and fall injuries are typically caused by snow
or ice, damaged sidewalks or stairs, and wet floors
caused by spills. Do not assume that you are simply
the unfortunate bearer of bad luck. If your fall
was caused by the failure of an owner or occupier
to make the premises safe under all the circumstances,
you may be entitled to compensation for time off
of work, medical expenses and pain and suffering.
Be sure to consult with a lawyer as soon as possible
because, depending on the location of your fall,
you may be required to report your injury in writing
within 7 days or else potentially be barred from
starting a claim.
It is important to remember to take photographs
of the location of your fall as soon as possible
and to bring these with you when you consult with
a lawyer.
